Botswana Moving Towards Election Day Public Holiday

Sources: The Daily News and Botswana public holidays (qppstudio.net). During the parliamentary debate on the "Electoral (Amendment) Bill" this week, the MP for Selebi-Phikwe West, Mr Kavis Kario, supported by the MP for Lobatse, Mr Nehemiah Modubule, introduced an amendment, which among other things, would make election day a public holiday in Botswana (the next legislative and presidential elections are expected to occur in October 2009).
