Nigeria: Renewed Calls For Traditional Public Holidays
Sources: The Nigerian Tribune and Nigeria public holidays (qppstudio.net). Chief Ifalere Adedosu, of the Adimula Improvement Movement, has added his voice to those asking the federal government of Nigeria to declare at least one public holiday for traditional African religions, considering that "imported" religions such as Christianity and Islam, already each have one or more official federal public holidays. The festival suggested is August 20th, the celebration day of Isese festival, where all the traditional religious group gather to worship divinities and the supreme being.
