Australia's Queen's Birthday Public Holiday Back In The News

After the state of Queensland (see our post of December 5), it is now the turn of Tasmania, through Tasmanian Liberal Senator, Guy Barnett, to consider reforms to the Queen's Birthday public holiday, namely moving it to a more relevant date, such as the monarch's actual birthday in April (and not June, as is the case for most of Australia, or September in Western Australia) or even September 1 (National Wattle Day) or International Volunteers Day, on September 5.
