Earlier today, the minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and chairman of the Civil Service Council, Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, issued a ministerial decision stating that Tuesday and Wednesday November 27 and 28 would be public holidays for employees working at the ministries, public authorities and other state administrative departments on the occasion of the 37th National Day.

On the same occasion, the minister of manpower, Juma bin Ali bin Juma, also issued a ministerial decision by which Wednesday and Thursday November 28 and 29 would be holidays for private sector employees.

As weekends in Oman are still Fridays (and Thursdays also for civil servants), this means a 4-day public holiday for civil servants (November 27-30), and a 3-day public holiday for the private sector (November 28-30). In all cases, work will resume on Saturday, December 1.
