Saipan's Austerity Fridays Would Change to Public Servants Holidays

The government introduced legislation that proposes unpaid holidays to replace the biweekly austerity holidays beginning this October. If the bill is enacted, government employees who stay at home on legal holidays will not be paid. Those who work will receive the regular rate, not double.
