Brazil's São Paulo Declares Municipal Public Holiday On May 11

After weeks of back and forth rumours, announcements, and counter announcements (see our review of April 27) the city of São Paulo has finally decided to declare a ponto facultativo, on May 11, 2007, on the occasion of the ceremony when Pope Benedict XVI will canonize Frey Galvão, Brazil's first saint ever.
