A presidential decree, signed yesterday by President Ilham Aliyev, establishes August 23 as the annual Professional Holiday of employees of the State Security Service.This will not be a general public holiday, and as the presidential press-service release states that it will be observed on Saturday, August 23, 2008, it will most likely not even be a day off for state security employees (otherwise this year's observance would have been moved to the following Monday).
