Apart from the pinning-down of the always uncertain local dates for the Prophet's Birthday and Diwali, the announcement also sets out the almost impossible to predict Youth Day. The announced list also contains some exceptions to the days in lieu rules, as specified in the law currently governing official public holidays in Fiji, the Public Holidays Act (Ordinances Nos. 1 of 1931, 5 of 1937).
