Until recently, the date of the upcoiming Eid-al Adha public holidays in Oman was uncertain, but Oman finally declared the date of Eid al-Adha for Wednesday, December 19.According to a ministerial decision issued by Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and chairman of the Civil Service Council, the public sector (ministries, public authorities and other state administrative bodies) will be on holidays from Tuesday, December 18, to Sunday, December 23, 2007, inclusively.
A similar decision, issued by Dr Juma bin Ali bin Juma, manpower minister, sets the period of Wednesday, December 19, to Saturday, December 22, 2007, inclusively, as public holidays for the private sector.
