Kenya Declares December 28 Public Holiday

Sources: Kenya Braodcasting Corporation and Kenya public holidays. Kenya government spokesperson, Alfred Mutua, announced that Friday, December 28, 2007, the day after the upcoming presidential election, would be a one-off public holiday in order for Kenyans to be able to travel, vote and return back to their workplace.

Note that by law, election day is already gazetted as a public holiday, and that both December 25 and 26 are also public holidays, meaning that Monday, December 24, is the only working day next week.
