The Iraqi national press office released an announcement which extended the Eid al-Adha public holiday for civil servants by one extra day and declared the following day, December 25th a national holiday in Iraq for all government offices (national and provincial).
The government, in its press release, mentions that this allows our citizens to celebrate Eid Al-Adha and the birth of the messiah (peace be upon him). Recall that in Islam, Jesus despite not being considered the Son of God, is nonetheless considered to be one of the great prophets.
