Argentina Announces Public Sector and Bank Holidays For December 10, 24 and 31

Sources: InfoBAE and Argentina public holidays. Yesterday, Argentina's president, Néstor Kirchner, issued Presidential Decree 1781, which sets forth 3 one-off Monday public holidays in December, for public servants: the 10th (the date of the inauguration of his successor, his wife Cristina Fernández, as President), the 24th and the 31st.

Banks and financial institutions are not covered by the decree, but they are strongly encouraged to follow suit. We expect this to be the case, as the afternoons of December 24 and 31 are already half-day annual bank holidays.
