The Chairman of the Armenian Central Election Committee, Garegin Azaryan, announced that Armenia would hold its next presidential elections on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, and that that day would be declared a public holiday (non-working day).
In addition, by a decree of Minister of Education, Levon Mkrtchian, Monday, February 18, 2008, is declared non-working days in educational institutions all over Armenia. Rectors and school headmasters have been assigned to ensure favourable conditions for ordinary routine of precincts located inside the institutions.
