Sources: Gulf News and Oman public holidays. Due to Cyclone Gonu, the Oman government has declared a public holiday for tomorrow, Wednesday June 6, 2007. Bearing in mind that, in Oman, the weekends are still Thursdays and Fridays (see our post of June 3), this means that government and businesses will be shutdown until Saturday morning, June 9.
Update: The government has now officially specified that Thursday and Friday, June 7-8, should be public holidays for both the public and private sectors, and in addition, has added Saturday, June 9, as a public holiday (source: Xinhua).
