Bolivia's MAS Party Proposes Exchanging Corpus Christi and Año Nuevo Indígena Public Holidays

In a development related to our post of June 4, Bolivia's governing party, MAS (Movimiento al Socialismo), has proposed the removal of the Corpus Christi public holiday, in exchange for the creation of a new public holiday that would commemorate the June 21, Año Nuevo Aymara (also known as Inti Raymi, or Año Nuevo Indígena).

Update: (La Patris, June 7) Deputies have rejected the motion to replace Corpus Christi with Inti Raymi ... for the time being.
