Malaysia Aiming To Reduce Number Of Public Holidays
Sources: The Star and Malaysia public holidays. One of Malaysia's Ministers in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili, said yesterday that the Malaysian government was aiming to reduce the number of public holidays in Malaysia, although he stopped short of setting out any type of deadline. Of particular concern seems to be the declaration of one-off public holidays in Malaysia for ethnic holidays (our post of May 31) or for the coronation of local sultans (our post of April 8).
