Taiwan Declares January 2 Bridge Public Holiday

Sources: Taiwan News (Taipei) and Taiwan public holidays (qppstudio.net). Earlier today, Taiwan's Central Personnel Administration announced that Friday, January 2, 2009, will be a one-off extra holiday to bridge the gap between January 1st and the week-end.

Update (December 5) The comments attributed to Taiwan's Premier, Liu Chao-shiuan, at the time of his signing of the above resolution, would seem to indicate that this is now an official policy that will extend beyond the January 2 bridge public holiday.
