In either case, we expect the date of the run-off presidential election to be declared a public holiday.
Update (15-oct-2008) The President of the Maldives, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, acting on a request of the Elections Commission, has declared Tuesday, October 28, the date of second-round voting in presidential elections, and the day after, Wednesday, October 29, 2008, as one-off public holidays.
