Upon a suggestion by its advisor for employment and training (consejero de Empleo y Formación), Constantino Sotoca, the governing council of the autonomous region of Murcia, released it calendar of regional public holidays for 2009.March 19, San José, was chosen as a regional public holiday, as is customary in the region of Murcia, as was the June 9th, Día de la Región de Murcia. In addition, Monday, December 7th was declared a regional public holiday, as was done in many other regions, due to Constitution Day (December 6) falling on a Sunday in 2009.
