Libya To Replace October 7 Public Holiday By One On August 30
Sources: Time and Libya public holidays (qppstudio.net). Following last weekend's historical signing of an agreement whereby Italy would invest 5 billion dollars over the next 20 years to atone for its colonial occupation of Libya, it has been reported that Libya's ruler, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, will cancel the October 7 public holiday (put in place a few years ago when the aforementioned negotiations stalled) and replace it by an annual August 30th public holiday, tentatively named "Libyan-Italian Friendship Day".
