Spain's La Rioja Region Changes 2009 Regional Public Holidays

Sources: larioja.com (Logroño) and Spain public holidays (qppstudio.net). The government of Spain's autonomous region of La Rioja has released the list of its 2009 public holidays. This year, the traditional regional public holiday of Santiago Apostol (July 25) will be replaced by San José (March 19) while the bridge day of December 7, sandwiched between the public holidays of December 6 and 8, will also be a public holiday.

An earlier online polling initiative (our post of June 22) had indicated a preference by voters for the 2 regional public holidays to be San José and Easter Monday.
