Maldives Declares Public Holiday For Tomorrow's Constitution Ratification

Sources: High Commission of the Republic of Maldives in the United Kingdom (London) and Maldives public holidays (qppstudio.net). As we had anticipated in our post of July 30, the President of the Maldives, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, has declared tomorrow, Thursday, August 7, 2008, a one-off public holiday in the Maldives to coincide with the ratification of the new Constitution. Note that, as weekends are Friday/Saturday in the Maldives, this means a 3-day holiday.
