Turkey's Parliament Considering Making Nevruz A National Holiday

Late on Tuesday night, Turkey's Parliament decided to discuss a draft bill that will make the traditional Nevruz festival celebrated, by the Kurds of Turkey, on March 21, a national public holiday. It is unlikely, however, even if the law is voted, that the bill will be signed into law in time for this year's Nevruz.
