Philippines Declares January 15-16 Regional Public Holidays

Through Proclamation No. 1441, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (PGMA) declared January 15, 2008, as a special non-working day in San Pablo City in Laguna, to enjoy the celebration of the feast of Saint Paul, the First Hermit. Note that coinciding with the feast of their patron saint is the annual holding of San Pablo City's Coconut Festival and Mardi Gras Contest.

Issued on the same day, Proclamation No. 1443, declares January 16, 2008, as special non-working day in Batangas City to honor and commemorate the feast of its patron saint, Sto. NiƱo.
