Germany: Reformation Day Public Holiday In Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg by 2017 ?

The Northern Evangelical Church of Germany has announced that is was mounting a campaign to push for the addition of the October 31 Reformation Day to the list of public holidays of Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg (where 65 percent of the population is composed of Evangelical Christians).

The goal is for this to pass before 2017, the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther's nailing of his list of 95 points on the door of the Church of Wittenberg. Currently, Reformation Day is a public holiday in 5 of the 16 Länder (provinces/states) of Germany.
