Earlier on Monday, the Minister of Labour of Nicaragua, Jeannette Chávez Gómez, announced that, according to the powers vested in her by law 185, law 290, and article 264-d of the Labour Code (Código del Trabajo), she had declared Wednesday and Thursday, August 1 and 2, 2007, as fully-paid public holidays for all municipal employees of Managua, on the occasion of the commemoration of the life of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, patron of Managua.
