Nigeria Declares Public Holiday On April 12-13
Source: Reuters Africa. Earlier today, Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo declared a 2-day public holiday for the end of this week, Thursday and Friday, April 12 and 13, 2007. These 2 days are to be "work-free days to enable people to travel in order to participate in gubernatorial and state House of Assembly elections". Nigerians vote for state governors and legislators on Saturday April 14, and will vote for the president and the National Assembly a week later.
