Media reports have confirmed that this year's May Day public holiday in the Dominican Republic, would be observed on Monday, April 30, 2007.Analysis: This is as expected; the law 139-97 of June 19, 1997, clearly states that public holidays that are neither patriotic, nor religious, in character, shall be moved to the closest Monday if they occur on a weekday.
